Master of Arts in TESOL (Online)

SIT’s online Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is designed to meet the career goals of current teachers seeking a master’s degree in EFL, ESL, ELT, TESL, or TESOL. The program offers SIT’s highly regarded TESOL graduate education — grounded in collaborative, cohort-based experiential learning, and reflective practice — through a remote format. Students complete the majority of coursework online while staying in their current jobs and communities, and come to the Vermont campus for three weeks each summer for intensive face-to-face sessions.

Summer in Thailand LGBTQ $3,000 Scholarship

The Thailand Summer Study Abroad program with TEAN is a 3 or 6-week program based in Chiang Mai. This scholarship is for an outstanding student who also identifies as LGBTQ. The $3,000 scholarship can be used toward your program fees and tuition for Summer 2015. It will cover the cost of your tuition, services and housing for one 3-week module.

TEFL Practicum In Sri Lanka

An EFL teacher. This is a challenging Opportunity for a (newly) qualified teacher to teach 20-25 hours a week in Sri Lanka get practical Teaching Experience. The opportunity would be ideal for either a (newly) qualified CELTA teachers or TEFL teachers. Experience is desirable though not essential. We offer this program as a training facility for motivated people wanting to complete their Online TEFL courses, as well as gain valuable teaching experience at the same time.With regards to the classes, they are small, the students very eager to learn and we really feel this would be an amazing opportunity for new TEFL trainees to gain practical experience. A professional approach is the key as is a personal desire to play a major part in this new and exciting project. Teachers must be team players prepared to share their experience with those less experienced. The objective of the trainee ship is to offer the trainee the opportunity to gain experience as an English teacher to children and to gain knowledge about learning behaviour, classroom routines, teaching techniques and the Srilankan culture and language.

General English (GE)

We offer a range of courses to improve students English proficiency step by step. We aim to provide a fun and sociable study environment to make it fun in learning English. Students will be allocated to a suitable level according to the placement test result. Our general English classes are designed for the students who want to improve their English skills. The classes focus on a fun and interactive English learning approaches as well as outdoor learning experiences.

Certificate IV in TESOL (Full-length Course)

Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is a course specifically designed for people wishing to teach English to speakers of other languages in Australia or Internationally. The course involves an introduction to techniques of classroom management and assessment, and a more thorough introduction to presentation techniques, lesson preparation and analysing language for communicative purposes. The course is highly practical with a major emphasis on practice teaching, which will be delivered through a combination of workshops, lesson observation and lesson delivery. Certificate IV in TESOL is considered equivalent to the Cambridge / RSA Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), which are recognized internationally as a qualification for teaching English as a foreign or second language (TEFL or TESL).
