Direct Study Abroad ExchangesYour school and a foreign university have an arrangement where they exchange students. These programs may cost the same tuition for your home university if the two schools are exchanging an equal number of students, but this may not always be the case. Benefits: The benefit of direct exchange programs is that your school has already set up an agreement with the school abroad. What does that mean for you? Most likely all of your academic credit and financial aid will most likely transfer between your home school and the school abroad flawlessly. There will also be a good chance that you’ll be abroad with students from you school. With direct study abroad exchanges there is also a greater chance that you’ll be able to take upper division classes from your major because of the agreement between the two schools. Be sure to check with you study abroad advisor and an advisor for your major to make sure you can your classes you take abroad will transfer back.
