AIFS Gap Year Programs: London, England (Summer)

AIFS in London offers a unique academic program. Because of the wide range of degrees offered by Richmond, AIFS students have an array of courses to choose from to help fulfill and complement their degrees. Students can opt to do a Certificate in British Studies Program and focus on courses related to British culture, or choose from a myriad of courses in business, finance, economics, public relations, psychology, sociology, journalism, communications, art, history and more. Volunteer opportunities and an International Internship Program are also available. London is diverse, modern and thriving city, and with AIFS, central London is just outside your door. Situated in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace count among the notable neighbors. A major political, financial and cultural center, London is one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Home to a multitude of museums and galleries, concert halls, theaters, historic buildings and a host of beautiful urban parks, London has something for everyone. AIFS is a premier provider of study abroad programs. Comprehensive fees cover tuition and housing, with scholarship funding available. AIFS Study Abroad in Berlin, Germany

Berlin is arguably Europe’s hippest city – a dynamic, multicultural metropolis where the emphasis is on creativity and expression. This city has been on the rise architecturally, economically and socially since 1989. Cultural offerings include a thriving contemporary art and music scene, world class museums and world renowned orchestras, opera houses and theaters. Academic year, fall and spring semester students take up to 15 semester credits from a large array of subjects at Freie Universität Berlin, including German language (no previous German language study is required). Summer and January (winter) term students select from a number of courses offered at Humboldt University, Berlin's oldest university, including classes in German language, history and culture. Social and cultural activities and sightseeing around Berlin are included. Depending on the academic term, travel excursions may include a trip to Potsdam; Prague, Czech Republic; London, England; Dresden; or a week-long European city tour.
