Paris is one of the world’s great capitals of culture. Known throughout the world for its museums and historical monuments, the city has a laid back vibe and is easy to get around. It's a great city for students to explore with top restaurants and great names in fashion among vintage stores, cafés and take-away crêpes stalls. Students earn 2 credits and acclimate to France in the sunny Mediterranean city of Cannes, with all levels of French available from beginner through superior. Once in Paris, students begin their chosen course of study at Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS) following an orientation workshop. Additionally, AIFS students may take art at the Académie de Port Royal or music courses through the Schola Cantorum. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Depending on the term, excursions and travel options may include a trip to the Château of Versailles; an excursion to the Champagne region; a Bateaux-Mouches boat trip along the Seine; a trip to the Châteaux de la Loire; a tour of London, England; and a trip to tour Normandy and Brittany. AIFS Study Abroad in Salamanca, Spain

Earn semester credits studying subjects including Spanish language and culture at the prestigious University of Salamanca, Spain's oldest university. Founded in 1218, University of Salamanca is Europe's third oldest and Spain's leading national institution for Spanish instruction. Depending on the program term, select your course of study from a broad array of subjects. Academic year, fall and spring semester options include Spanish studies combined with International Relations, International Business and Culture programs as well as Integrated Studies with Spaniards. This is an optimal location to study Spanish language in a region of Spain where the purest Castilian Spanish is used. Accommodation options include an apartment, student residence or Spanish homestay. January term (winter) students study Intensive Spanish Language and Culture taught at four levels with no previous Spanish study required. AIFS Study Abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa

Spectacular mountain ranges surround Stellenbosch, the university town in the winelands of the Western Cape. The elegant Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian houses that grace the oak tree-lined streets reflect the history of one of South Africa’s oldest towns. Take a stroll and you’ll find interesting museums, open-air coffee shops, bistros and a thriving art scene; go further afield and you can hike through vineyards, orchards and mountain ranges. Study here and become part of a vibrant academic community with a tranquil and laid-back atmosphere. AIFS in Stellenbosch offers a traditional academic program as well as a Learning for Sustainable Community Engagement Program (LSCE). Students can choose courses from Stellenbosch University’s full course catalog which cover a broad range of subjects. LSCE students take specific courses in Sustainable Community Engagement, plus one or two electives, in addition to volunteer work in the community. AIFS also offers students with an interest in art, photography, ceramics or marketing the opportunity to intern at the Ardmore Ceramic Studio in Kwazulu Natal.
