The birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg is one of the most elegant and interesting cities in Europe. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique character and architecture, enjoy the charm of city life and the tranquility of its lush meadows, mountains and lakes. You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as Austrian cooking classes, a Sound of Music tour, and visits to the Austrian Lake District, Salt Mines, Werfen Castle and Hellbrunn Palace. A 3-day trip to Vienna and day trip to Innsbruck are included in the AIFS program. Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to Prague and a day trip to Munich. AIFS in Salzburg offers a 2-week German language orientation course to help students from Beginner to Advanced adjust to life in Austria. In addition to the music courses offered, AIFS can arrange musical instrument instruction for interested students. Volunteer opportunities are also available. AIFS is a premier provider of study abroad programs. Comprehensive fees cover tuition and housing, with scholarship funding available. AIFS Study Abroad in Berlin, Germany

Berlin is arguably Europe’s hippest city – a dynamic, multicultural metropolis where the emphasis is on creativity and expression. This city has been on the rise architecturally, economically and socially since 1989. Cultural offerings include a thriving contemporary art and music scene, world class museums and world renowned orchestras, opera houses and theaters. Academic year, fall and spring semester students select a minimum of 4 classes from a large array of subjects at Freie Universität Berlin including German language (no previous German language study is required). Summer and January (winter) term students select from a number of courses offered at Humboldt University, Berlin's oldest university, including classes in German language, history and culture. Social and cultural activities and sightseeing around Berlin are included. Depending on the academic term, travel excursions may include a trip to Potsdam; Prague, Czech Republic; London, England; Dresden; or a week-long European city tour.
