Study abroad in Barcelona, Spain and select from a wide range of subject matters with classes taught in both Spanish and English available. Live in student apartments or for a small fee, a student residence or Spanish homestay may be selected. Choose from academic year, fall and spring semester programs at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona or Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Summer and January term (winter) programs are available at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Cultural and social activities and travel opportunities are included with all programs. Depending on the academic term, travel excursions and day trips may include visits to Montserrat and Sitges, the Pyrenees, Gerona and Besalú, and Figueras and the Salvador Dalí Museum. Additional travel options may include visits to London, England; Tangier and Tetouan, Morocco; Interlaken, Switzerland; and Seville & Granada, Andalucia. Spectacular mountain ranges surround Stellenbosch, the university town in the winelands of the Western Cape. The elegant Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian houses that grace the oak tree-lined streets reflect the history of one of South Africa’s oldest towns. AIFS in Stellenbosch offers a traditional academic program as well as a Learning for Sustainable Community Engagement Program (LSCE). Students can choose courses from Stellenbosch University’s full course catalog which cover a broad range of subjects. LSCE students take specific courses in Sustainable Community Engagement, plus one or two electives, in addition to volunteer work in the community. AIFS also offers students with an interest in art, photography, ceramics or marketing the opportunity to intern at the Ardmore Ceramic Studio in Kwazulu Natal.

AIFS Study Abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia

The St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1899 and became one of the major universities of Russia and the former Soviet Union. It was raised to the status of state technical university in 1990 in recognition of its importance. The University is home to more than 20,000 students and 2,000 professors, lecturers and instructors. The academic program is organized by the Russian Language Center at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students, one mile from the main campus. This department trains students from all over the world who wish to enter higher education at Russian universities and is highly regarded for excellent teaching of Russian as a foreign language.
