Students take the literature class, Modern Irish Writing at Trinity College Dublin. Explore the best of Irish literary tradition and culture from 1900 to the present day. Visit the James Joyce Centre, Kilmainham Gaol, the National Museum, the National Library, the Irish Museum of Modern Art or see a play at Dublin's iconic Abbey Theatre. Supporting academic visits include entrance to the Old Library and the Book of Kells; a guest lecture with an Irish author/poet; a session on manuscripts and archives; and a session on staging Irish drama with a tour of the Smock Alley Theatre. Cultural and social activities ensure students experience all that this friendly Irish city has to offer including a guided walking tour of Dublin, a visit to the famous Guinness Storehouse, an evening of traditional Irish music and more. Travel excursions provide a taste of Irish life beyond the capital city, and an additional trip to the bohemian city of Galway is also available.

AIFS Study Abroad in Salamanca, Spain

Earn semester credits studying subjects including Spanish language and culture at the prestigious University of Salamanca, Spain's oldest university. Founded in 1218, University of Salamanca is Europe's third oldest and Spain's leading national institution for Spanish instruction. Depending on the program term, select your course of study from a broad array of subjects. Academic year, fall and spring semester options include Spanish studies combined with International Relations, International Business and Culture programs as well as Integrated Studies with Spaniards. This is an optimal location to study Spanish language in a region of Spain where the purest Castilian Spanish is used. Accommodation options include an apartment, student residence or Spanish homestay. January term (winter) students study Intensive Spanish Language and Culture taught at four levels with no previous Spanish study required. Enjoy cultural and social activities such as a guided tour of Salamanca, a tapas tour, Spanish cooking class, visits to galleries and museums and much more.
