AIFS Travel Program: Ireland's Island Heritage

Earn 3 credits exploring Ireland's Island Heritage with AIFS on this interdisciplinary field-based program. Live on campus in self-catering accommodations at National University of Ireland (NUI), Maynooth as well as bed and breakfast accommodations while traveling. In addition to a group farewell meal, breakfast is included throughout. Students spend the first week on the picturesque NUI campus with field trips to nearby Dublin. Over the next two weeks, students travel to World Heritage sites such as Bru na Boinne and enjoy trips to the famed Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Holy Island and many lesser known sites to learn about the social, cultural and folkloric history of Ireland.

AIFS Study Abroad in Florence, Italy

Earn credits through a wide variety of courses when you study in beautiful, historic Florence. You’ll have the option to live in a homestay or in a student apartment as you experience many social and cultural activities, such as trips to local art galleries, an Italian cooking class, and visits to the local museums. Enjoy trips to Rome, Siena and Venice, immersing yourself in the Italian culture. Volunteer and internship opportunities are also available. AIFS in Florence includes a one-week orientation before the semester begins so students can acclimate themselves to Italian language and culture. Fall semester students attend orientation in the beach-side town of Pietrasanta, while spring semester students attend orientation in Rome. A for-credit International Internship Program (IIP) is also available, as well as a Fashion Management and Marketing Program (spring only). Volunteer opportunities are available and interested students can enhance their volunteer work with a for-credit Service Learning and Active Citizenship course.

AIFS Study Abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia

The St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1899 and became one of the major universities of Russia and the former Soviet Union. It was raised to the status of state technical university in 1990 in recognition of its importance. The University is home to more than 20,000 students and 2,000 professors, lecturers and instructors. The academic program is organized by the Russian Language Center at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students, one mile from the main campus. This department trains students from all over the world who wish to enter higher education at Russian universities and is highly regarded for excellent teaching of Russian as a foreign language.
