Students who want to study abroad in Shanghai with API will take their courses at East China Normal University (ECNU). ECNU – a national renowned university under the direct auspices of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Founded in 1951, it is nationally accredited by the Ministry of Education of the PRC and a member of the prestigious 211 and 985 projects. Boasting one of the most beautiful university campuses in China, the university is reputed as the “garden university.”

ECNU is a research university with an extensive range of disciplines including education, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences & technologies and administrative sciences. ECNU currently enrolls more than 30,000 students from all parts of China and abroad, of which more than 5,000 are international students.

API students at ECNU can study abroad for a semester, academic year, or summer term, and take courses in English and Mandarin Chinese.

API Teach in Colombia

API is working together with Colombia’s Ministry of Education (MEN) and a Colombian public institution, National Service of Learning (SENA), to provide conversational English training in job training centers and schools. English training is an important step to help locals succeed in school, find better jobs, and improve communication in the global market. Placements are available to teach conversational English in one of two ways: co-teach with a local Colombian teacher in 9-11th grade public school classrooms or at adult vocational training centers. Participants are required to teach 20-25 classroom hours and put in an additional 15-20 hours of classroom prep, grading, office hours, and staff meetings per week.

API international internships provide students with the unique opportunity to explore and cultivate their future career path through a high-quality, 8-week credit-bearing placement in several exciting fields and destinations. API internship programs encompass a number of career development and cultural resources to help participants maximize their personal and professional development. Internships open to high school graduates, 18 years old and above. Gap year students are eligible for 8-Week Fixed Date Internships in select locations.
