Leeds has an international reputation as one of the most desirable cities in England. It is centrally located, allowing for easy travel to London and other British destinations. Historians have found traces of Leeds’ history as early as 627 A.D. Leeds is known as the “Commercial Capital of the North,” as well as, “Environmental City of the U.K.” (Its economy is among the most diverse in the U.K., and it is one of the “greenest” cities in Europe, with a greenbelt covering over 2/3 of its entire area. Landmark sites that define Leeds are Millennium Square, Leeds City Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum, Leeds Waterfront, and Turk’s Head Yard. The city center and Victoria Quarter offer a wide array of shops and restaurants.

Direct Enrollment
API students in Dunedin will have the opportunity to study at New Zealand’s oldest university – the University of Otago. The University of Otago has been rated by international students as one of the top universities in New Zealand in terms of quality of learning, living, support, and student services. API students will study alongside “Kiwis” and other international students. There are also opportunities for fieldwork and research in the areas of marine and geological sciences. HIGHLIGHTS
Dunedin (population 120,000), is the second-largest city on New Zealand’s South Island. Dunedin and the surrounding area are widely known as an eco-tourism destination, and a great jumping-off point for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, skiing, trekking, and kayaking. The city is very easy to navigate for pedestrians, and its lively central shopping district is within walking distance of campus. API Teach in Colombia

API is working together with Colombia’s Ministry of Education (MEN) and a Colombian public institution, National Service of Learning (SENA), to provide conversational English training in job training centers and schools. English training is an important step to help locals succeed in school, find better jobs, and improve communication in the global market. Placements are available to teach conversational English in one of two ways: co-teach with a local Colombian teacher in 9-11th grade public school classrooms or at adult vocational training centers. Participants are required to teach 20-25 classroom hours and put in an additional 15-20 hours of classroom prep, grading, office hours, and staff meetings per week.
