DESCRIPTION

This exceptional study abroad program, which is offered through the Australian National Internship's Program at Australian National University (ANU), provides you an inside perspective of Australia's federal parliament. Canberra, Australia's capital city, is an exemplary place to learn about the Australian Parliament and policy making. Serving as the headquarters for all federal departments as well as many national associations and lobby groups. The program combines coursework with a two-and-a-half to four days a week internship for 11 weeks. You will have the unique opportunity to be placed in the office of a senator or member of the House of Representatives, in one of 50 parliamentary committees or in a department responsible for the operation of Parliament. Your courses will be with other program participants, providing a learning community framework and an American perspective on your experience.
