Ashoka Innovators for the Public was founded in 1980 by Bill Drayton.
Following its vision of a Everyone A Changemaker™ World, Ashoka supports the movement of social entrepreneurship through different groups throughout society, such as Youth, Universities, Companies and Social Organizations. So far, Ashoka has elected more than 3,000 Social Entrepreneurs worldwide, supported more than 3,000 initiatives benefitting 60,000 teenagers and certified 14 Universities as Centers of Social Innovation in the United States and Mexico. Following the Hybrid Value Chain™ model, Ashoka is working to create commercial partnerships between the business and citizen sectors to deliver essential products and services to low-income consumers. Ashoka is thus constantly working to achieve its vision of a world that responds quickly and effectively to social challenges.
