During CIEE’s Arts and Sciences program in Istanbul, you’ll spend a semester gaining a profound understanding of a country rapidly urbanizing and transforming. Through studies at one of the country’s most prestigious private universities, volunteering, excursions, and cultural activities – including checking out the Grand Bazaar, a huge covered market in operation since 1461 – you’ll explore Turkey’s fascinating history, traditions, and people as an insider. CIEE Summer The Politics of Africa Multi-Site Program in Legon + Dakar

Immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of West African politics in two of the region’s most politically active countries. First, see how activism and governance are defined and demonstrated in Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence. Then, gain a deeper understanding of the components of a stable democracy – from history to influences of religion and politics – in Senegal.
