Botswana has one of the most vibrant health care systems in Africa. With CIEE, you’ll explore the country’s healthcare delivery system and learn the successes and challenges from firsthand experience. You will observe the multifaceted response to a variety of healthcare issues in clinics, public health non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and hospitals. Engaging coursework, Setswana-language learning, homestays, and more will immerse you in this inspirational country and help you gain an understanding of its people. CIEE Summer The Politics of Africa Multi-Site Program in Legon + Dakar

Immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of West African politics in two of the region’s most politically active countries. First, see how activism and governance are defined and demonstrated in Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence. Then, gain a deeper understanding of the components of a stable democracy – from history to influences of religion and politics – in Senegal. Along the way, you’ll compare and contrast the successes and challenges of both political landscapes.
