CIEE Diplomacy & Policy Studies Program in Amman, Jordan

Diplomats and policymakers need linguistic talents and a deep awareness of local issues. Through our Diplomacy and Policy Studies program, we’ll set you on the path to understanding some of the most deep-seated conflicts in the world with acute language accuracy and cultural sensibility. You’ll get to know the region’s history – focusing on diplomacy, policy studies, and international affairs in the context of the ongoing regional situation – through fascinating courses, volunteer activities, and much more. Study abroad in Amman and you'll: - Learn about international relations, political science, and economics with a Jordanian and Middle Eastern focus - Engage with local experts, government officials, and diplomats through cooperation with the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy (JID) - Improve your Arabic language skills through coursework in both modern standard Arabic and colloquial Jordanian Arabic - Do an optional internship at a local or international NGO or business

CIEE Summer The Politics of Africa Multi-Site Program in Legon + Dakar

Immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of West African politics in two of the region’s most politically active countries. First, see how activism and governance are defined and demonstrated in Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence. Then, gain a deeper understanding of the components of a stable democracy – from history to influences of religion and politics – in Senegal. Along the way, you’ll compare and contrast the successes and challenges of both political landscapes.
