Get to know West Africa and learn more about global and local business practices on CIEE’s International Business and Culture program in Legon. In this home to some of the friendliest people in the region, you’ll witness firsthand business, development, and entrepreneurship in Africa during community engagement and service projects, an internship, and more. You’ll build ethical leadership and business skills during courses at Ashesi University, an innovative private African university founded by a former Microsoft executive and Berkeley Hass School of Business graduate. Plus, you’ll explore the area’s rich traditions and culture during excursions to tropical waterfalls, historic slave-trade routes, beautiful lakes, and local businesses and social enterprises. Study abroad in Legon and you’ll: - Develop basic communication skills in Twi, the most widely spoken indigenous language of Ghana - Immerse yourself in Ghana’s rich cultural history through visits to inspiring landmarks, such as Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Aburi Botanical Gardens - Choose from a range of liberal arts and business courses - Enjoy a vibrant campus life with students from 22 diverse nations, including 14 different African countries - Get to know some of the friendliest people in Africa during cultural activities including attending live music and theater performances
