CIEE International Business & Culture Program in Legon, Ghana

Get to know West Africa and learn more about global and local business practices on CIEE’s International Business and Culture program in Legon. In this home to some of the friendliest people in the region, you’ll witness firsthand business, development, and entrepreneurship in Africa during community engagement and service projects, an internship, and more. You’ll build ethical leadership and business skills during courses at Ashesi University, an innovative private African university founded by a former Microsoft executive and Berkeley Hass School of Business graduate. Plus, you’ll explore the area’s rich traditions and culture during excursions to tropical waterfalls, historic slave-trade routes, beautiful lakes, and local businesses and social enterprises. CIEE Summer The Politics of Africa Multi-Site Program in Legon + Dakar

Immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of West African politics in two of the region’s most politically active countries. First, see how activism and governance are defined and demonstrated in Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence. Then, gain a deeper understanding of the components of a stable democracy – from history to influences of religion and politics – in Senegal. Along the way, you’ll compare and contrast the successes and challenges of both political landscapes.
