CIEE May Middle Eastern Studies Program in Amman, Jordan

Discover a rich and diverse culture in cosmopolitan Amman during CIEE’s May Middle East Studies program. During three weeks, you’ll take a course on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, participate in cultural activities ranging from soccer to traditional dance, visit important archaeological and natural sites, and engage with local Jordanian people. You’ll return home with a rich and multi-faceted understanding of Jordanians and the Middle East region as a whole. Study abroad in Jordan and you will: -Take a course on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in English -Experience the local culture though activities like calligraphy, henna, dance, soccer matches, concerts, theater, and more -Visit important archaeological and natural sites such as Petra, Jerash, and the Dead Sea

CIEE Summer The Politics of Africa Multi-Site Program in Legon + Dakar

Immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of West African politics in two of the region’s most politically active countries. First, see how activism and governance are defined and demonstrated in Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence. Then, gain a deeper understanding of the components of a stable democracy – from history to influences of religion and politics – in Senegal. Along the way, you’ll compare and contrast the successes and challenges of both political landscapes.
