By directly enrolling at Dublin City University (DCU) or Trinity College Dublin, you’ll have the joy of befriending the Irish, who are known for their hospitality. Dublin City University (DCU) and Trinity College Dublin offer a wide variety of challenging courses. This program appeals primarily to those students who are ready for the challenge of adapting to an entirely new academic culture that requires significant independent work. Dublin will also be your classroom. Take in an Irish play at Abbey Theatre, the country’s national theater. Learn about Dublin’s history by exploring Dublin Castle which was built in 1204. Visit Trinity College Dublin to see The 7th Century Book of Kells, a masterful example of an illuminated manuscript, that is housed in its own climate controlled archive in the university’s old library. As you walk the boulevards of Rabat, it’s hard not to be enchanted by the mystery and tradition of this timeless city. From the bustling souqs (open-air markets) and energizing atmosphere of the city to the serenity of the surrounding mountains and sea, Rabat is an ideal place to learn about the languages, cultures, and religions of North Africa and the Arab world. Delve into the fascinating layers of this North African nation as you learn Modern Standard Arabic with courses at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Learn Colloquial Moroccan Arabic to communicate with Moroccans, and if you have already taken advanced French, you can take French-taught area studies courses at the IES Abroad Center or local universities. Our curriculum focuses on North African and Islamic Studies, and IES Abroad courses introduce you to the many influential forces shaping the history and culture of Morocco. Rabat will be your classroom. Rich in cultural heritage and a diverse population, Morocco has been influenced by many different ethnic, cultural, and religious groups that have settled in the country throughout its long history. Visit historic treasures like the Rabat Archaeological Museum, the Hassan Mosque, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V to see ancient artifacts and learn more about the Islamic cultural influences. You can also add international work experience to your résumé while earning credit by participating in an internship placement and accompanying academic seminar. Buenos Aires - Latin American Societies and Cultures If you are ready for an urban adventure, Buenos Aires is your city. With endless city districts and neighborhoods to explore, you will get lost in the sights and sounds of Buenos Aires. Tango the night away as you learn the popular dance of Argentina, attend one of the many soccer games, and browse the local art scene�all this and more awaits you as a study abroad student in Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires will also be your classroom. Learn about visual arts in the city and then meet with local graffiti artists before seeing their work. Study the impact of globalization in Latin America and then get an internship with one of the top Argentinian businesses. Welcome to study abroad! Open to students of all language levels, the Latin American Societies & Cultures Program allows you to improve your Spanish language skills while taking courses in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, all of which feature an academic emphasis on Latin America. If you have beginning- and intermediate-level language skills, you can choose from a wide variety of English-taught IES Abroad courses in areas such as the Arts, Literature, Film, Anthropology, and Political Science. If you have advanced-level Spanish language skills, you have the option to choose from Spanish-taught IES Abroad courses and courses through our prestigious university partners. You also have the option to take up to two English-taught IES Abroad courses.
