The aim of the 3 years-course is to prepare the students to face with skills and sensibility the concrete responsibilities of the profession. That’s why during the formation, a significant place is occupied by courses that technically deal with the use of materials and installations, but also the graphic and communicative methods to present and develop the work in a professional way. ISAD’s Bachelor is proposed as a preparation for the profession of interior design. Aimed at high-school/graduate students, the 3 years-course is accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S.. At the end of the formation, the student acquires a European Degree with 180 ECTS credits. The courses are organized by thematic areas regarding both drawing and the techniques of representation, the interior design project, the history of architecture related to the morphology of human habitations, technologies and materials. Each course is developed in workshops that link the theoretical lessons to laboratory work providing immediate feedback and verification with teachers. Each year is divided in two semesters. The Interior Design projects, essential for the didactic formation and controls of the collateral topics, are annual or biannual. To the didactic activity, during the year, are integrated guided visits to exhibitions, cultural activities, worksites and firms as well as historic buildings of interest to the topics being studied. During the course, all students will make two internships, one during the second year and another one during the third year, in a firm or Architecture studio, completely provided by ISAD.

Master New Tech-Style Design

The POLI.DESIGN Consorzio of the Politecnico di Milano and ISAD, Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design together with the Confindustria associations of Bergamo, Como and Lecco and their member companies are organising the first first-level Master's Degree in New Tech Style Design, textile experiences, to enhance, develop and promote Italian textile products through research, innovation and collaboration. The purpose of the Master's Degree is increase knowledge of textiles, not only in terms of possible applications in the sectors of fashion and design, and, at the same time, to prepare and develop a system of skills aimed at innovating textiles for both the clothing and furnishings and home markets: industrial design expertise aimed at product innovation, not only in aesthetic-formal terms, but also in the performance of materials, comfort and ergonomics, and process innovation aimed at simplifying, optimising and increasing the quality of processes.

Master Interior Design

The First Level Master, accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S., is open to graduate students in Architecture, Design and Engineering who intend to deepen their own qualification up to the level of details and in interior architecture. At the end of the course the student earn 60 ECTS credits. The course relates particularly to the Italian experience and more specifically to the Milan experience and reality. Six workshops deal with specific themes of interior architecture. Each project is organized with the collaboration of a client (agency, public administration, private client) who simulates a real professional condition with the presentation of a precise project program and a final verification of the workshop results. Besides delivering the widening program, the specialized teaching contributes directly in the activity of the workshops developing parts of the project to which it particularly refers. ISAD Interior Design Master is under sponsorship of Milan’Architects Order. During the course, all students will make an internship in a Firm or Architecture Studio, completely provided by ISAD.
