Examine art his­tory and Buddhism while traveling through the Indian Himalaya and onto the Tibetan plateau in India. The program’s unique design will allow you to experience Buddhist art and architecture, not just in the classroom or through text, but as a living tradition in historical and contem­porary contexts. This summer program examines the role of education in South Africa in the context of the country’s historical circumstances, contemporary public policy, and social and economic development. Students typically spend time at primary and secondary schools as well as adult educational centers in urban and rural KwaZulu-Natal.
