Funded Global Fellowship in China

The WorldTeach Global Education Fellowship (GEF) focuses on the intersections of globalization and learning in the 21st century.As one of our China Global Education Fellows, you will live in and experience a country that makes up 20 percent of the world's population and is on the brink of becoming the world's largest economy. What does this mean for the future of global trade and the global workplace? In what ways does China's modernization impact Chinese society, overall, and its next generation of entrepreneurs, teachers, and professionals? How are traditional cultures and norms being impacted during this period of rapid industrialization and urbanization? These questions will be among those posed and explored during your fellowship. Serving as a full time teacher in a local school in Hunan Province, you will also conduct research and reflection projects, either on your own or in collaboration with other Fellows. As a China Global Education Fellow you will develop highly coveted 21st century skills, Chinese cultural expertise, and a basic understanding of the Mandarin language, making you more competitive in the global marketplace. In return, you will serve as a role model for high school and middle school students who are facing a highly competitive educational and employment market, themselves.Placements for your fellowship take you to a town or city in the Hunan province. With a population of more than 65 million people, Hunan Province includes the large capital city of Changsha as well as smaller, but still urban, village centers.The Global Education Fellowship is a multi-faceted professional development program. Fellows are expected to complete research and reflection projects addressing the theme of how 21st century globalization is affecting education and learning, with projects tailored by each Fellowship participant to match their unique areas of interest and career objectives.The research component will average 15 hours per month, while teaching will average 30 hours per week. You will be responsible for lesson plans, grading and other duties as assigned by local school administrators. Teach and Travel China

The Teach & Travel China program gives you the opportunity of a lifetime where you get to teach English in a Chinese school, immerse yourself in Chinese culture, learn Mandarin and travel around China. Beginning in 2005, this program has proven to be extremely popular and is the biggest TEFL training program in China that draws hundreds of participants from across the globe every year.

API Teach in Colombia

API is working together with Colombia’s Ministry of Education (MEN) and a Colombian public institution, National Service of Learning (SENA), to provide conversational English training in job training centers and schools. English training is an important step to help locals succeed in school, find better jobs, and improve communication in the global market. Placements are available to teach conversational English in one of two ways: co-teach with a local Colombian teacher in 9-11th grade public school classrooms or at adult vocational training centers. Participants are required to teach 20-25 classroom hours and put in an additional 15-20 hours of classroom prep, grading, office hours, and staff meetings per week.

Teach in the Caribbean

Our Teacher Volunteer positions support pre-school centres and primary schools trying to foster positive learning experiences among children. We match you to your preferred taught subject areas so that you'll be sharing something you are passionate about. You'll then teach or assist classes in or related to that theme, potentially delivering a small project to fit your time volunteering. As a Teaching Assistant volunteer, you will: *assist in lesson planning, and preparing teaching equipment and material *help children during class with extra support and/or encouragement to complete tasks *take the lead in presenting a specialised subject, in agreement with your supervisory *assist fellow staff in supervisory capacities during sports classes, break time and play time

French Language Teacher

To teach French in all four skills – listening, speaking, writing and reading • To ensure that all pupils are ready and well equipped to take the examination • Ensure that homework is given, done by the pupils and subsequently marked • Ensure that good study habits are developed in class • Attend Parents’ Evenings and communicate with colleagues and parents to keep all concerned informed about the progress of all pupils • Write termly and yearly reports for each pupil • Keep appropriate records • Attend teachers’ meetings and other meetings when appropriate • Abide by the School’s policies and procedures Person Specification Qualification Requirements • Fluency in the French language and good knowledge of grammar • Desirable: experience in French curriculum and teaching

Fully Funded Global Education Fellowship in Ecuador

About the Ecuador Global Education Fellowship As a WorldTeach Global Education Fellow, you will be on the front lines of international education and innovation, developing professional skills and cross-cultural expertise while broadening your global network. Fellows will live in Ecuador for 8 months participating in Ecuador’s Time to Teach initiative, sponsored by Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa. Fellows will advance effective, student-centered education practices in Ecuadorian schools, while participating in an ongoing conversation about the future of globalization, education and international development in the 21st century. Fellowship postings will be in primary and secondary schools in rural areas such as the Ecuadorian Amazon, home to one of the most bio-diverse regions of the world (Yasuni National Park and Biosphere Reserve), and the Andes and Sierra Highlands, a region of majestic mountains and lush valleys that is famed for its recreational and tourist opportunities. Appreciation of cultural diversity and English language skills are increasingly necessary in a global economy. You can help others to expand their personal and professional opportunities, and broaden your own perspective, through your interactions within the school and community. API has established strong relationships with schools, language academies, and Ministries of Education around the world to connect teachers, students, and communities. Classroom education experience and foreign language proficiency are helpful, but not required in all destinations.
