Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is known for its hot springs, beer and the city of Prague. Situated on the Vltava River, the Czech Republic’s capital and largest city, Prague, attracts millions of visitors each year and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This picturesque Old European town is also known as the “city of a hundred spires.” The historic center of Prague became a UNESCO world heritage site for its immaculate red-roofed white-walled buildings, amazing monuments, and historic architecture. The huge central landmark of Prague Castle surrounds a magnificent Gothic cathedral and houses several palaces, museums, and gardens. Although many parts of Prague appear architecturally to have stayed in the sixteenth century, the city is also modern and exciting.
Historically made of the lands called Bohemia and Moravia in the center of Europe, the people of the Czech Republic have played a major role in European history and art. Today the Czech Republic is an economic star among the former Soviet Bloc countries. It is a developed nation, member of the EU, and a stable democracy. Whether one enjoys the unhurried pace of medieval villages or yearns to hike and perform outdoor sports in the hills, mountains and river valleys, the Czech Republic has something to offer everyone.

Climate

The climate of the landlocked Czech Republic is temperate, with hot summers and cold winters.
