AIFS Study Abroad in Bridgetown, Barbados

Spend the summer in the beautiful city of Bridgetown with AIFS! You’ll earn up to 4 credits at The University of the West Indies. Courses are taught in English.

You’ll earn 4 credits learning about the Caribbean while actively engaging in the culture of Barbados. Students will learn about the culture of the indigenous population, the history of the colonization of the Caribbean and 21st century Caribbean philosophy and pop culture. Classroom teaching is enhanced with extensive field trips to local museums, monuments and communities.

In Bridgetown, you will live in a single room in shared suites in a student residence hall. Daily breakfast and lunch in the campus dining hall is included.

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as:

·     A boat trip

·     Visit to slavery and emancipation exhibits at Barbados Museum

·     Visit to National Heroes Square

·     Tour of George Washington House

·     Visit to local beaches

·     Day trip throughout Bridgetown and Barbados.

Program Highlights:

·      Includes program fees guaranteed in U.S. dollars, housing, meal plan and experienced on-site Resident Director and support staff.

Over 50% of our study abroad participants receive financial support from AIFS in the form of scholarships or grants.
