I decided to study abroad because I had always wanted to immerse myself in a different culture and get to know a different part of the world. The idea of living in another city with different people has always interested me. I also wanted to experience the academic setting in a foreign environment, so I figured that studying abroad was the best way to do all of these.
I went abroad with SolEducation Abroad. I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I completely loved my time there. My host mom was very welcoming and with her attention and care I truly felt at home.
I studied at the Universidad de Belgrano. The program was quite interesting, the professors were very engaging, and the diversity of students in my program made the classes a completely different learning experience.
With my program I went to a Estancia (Gaucho Ranch), the Iguazu Falls as well as to Mar del Plata, Argentina's most popular vacation destination. These are must-go-to places while in Argentina. In addition, we visited a number of museums, historical places and cultural spots in the city.
I was able to pay for my study abroad thanks to my Pell grant and a student loan.
I did not experience any type of discrimination.
Studying abroad helped me realize that there is a whole world full of possibilities. It also taught me to step out of my comfort zone and to not be afraid of the unknown. Another thing it taught me is that although it is important to have a plan, the most important thing is to be open to possibilities and be able to react properly in unexpected scenarios. Life is not scripted and we must do the best of it.

Buenos Aires never sleeps. There is always something and somewhere to go.
Studying abroad helped me practice my Spanish and become aware with another Latin American culture. Most importantly, it exposed me to the political, cultural and social thoughts of so many other young people from Argentina and all over the world. This helped me broaden my perspective on a number of issues and it is perhaps the most important thing I got from my time in Buenos Aires.
I recommend SolEducation Abroad to anyone that wants to study abroad. The staff in the US was supported and worked with me all along from completing the application, to financial advice, to getting my visa. Once in Buenos Aires, we had weekly meetings and activities, which kept us engaged and learning. My on-site director was available 24/7 and answered any questions I had in vast detail.
Studying abroad is totally worth it. If there is an investment that is worth making it is studying abroad.
