story by Trixie Cordova

It’s official! Our #JoinDA contest has finally wrapped up with the announcement of our three lucky campus winners. In case you missed it, #JoinDA was introduced when we re-launched our new website back in January. In an effort to encourage more students to explore our online resources, we launched a competition to see which 3 campuses could get the most students to sign up on the brand new DiversityAbroad.com. The award? A travel grant worth $500!

Without further ado, here are the winners of the #JoinDA contest! Drumroll please….

They are:

  1. Duke University

  2. Temple University

  3. UC San Diego

Congratulations to these schools! Each school will receive a $500 #JoinDA travel grant for having the most new users join our community on the new DiversityAbroad.com website!

But fear not! There’s more! We also want to award a few schools that weren’t too far behind our winners. As runner-ups, the following schools can nominate a student of their choice for one-on-one scholarship and essay advising with former scholarship reviewers for scholarships such as Gilman, Critical Language Scholarship, and Diversity Abroad Scholarships! Congratulations to the following schools:

  1. University of San Diego

  2. University of Michigan

  3. Florida International

Even if your school wasn’t selected, we still encourage you to #JoinDA and explore the ways that Diversity Abroad can support you as you explore international opportunities. There are many other funding opportunities available to you as a DA.com member, and we want to see you take full advantage of these and other online resources, including the program search engine/tool, resource guides specifically about the diverse student experience abroad, alumni stories and more.

Congratulations again to the winning schools!
