Money Belt    Email  Print Forum
Happy New Years Everyone!

I have a question regarding money to ask people who have already study abroad. Did you use a money belt(it goes under clothing) to keep your money/creditcards/IDs? I had plan to just use my wallet and put it in my front pocket, but a friend said that even my front pocket wouldn't be safe enough from thief in crowded London. What would you recommend? Thanks.

I traveled to Italy, France and Spain with EF tours my high school year, and my teacher advised us to purchase a money belt. Honestly, I never used it. It stayed packed in my suitcase the whole trip. I have heard horror stories before, but we had no problems with theft or pick pocketing. For the most of the trip, I kept my money in a little wallet that I would either hold or place in a zippered pocket in my backpack. Just remember to stay vigilant especially in crowded areas. Hope this helps!
