My cousin goes to school in Cali and she says that there are tons of international students, but not that many Americans. Anyway the schools is called Universidad de San Buenaventura. Maybe you can go there.
Is there some reason there are NO connections with Colombia? I can hardly find any at all, even through this website...
It's not that dangerous there, I dont get it. I want to go there, but it seems like anyone who wants to go there will have to go to great lengths to find a way...
If you are loooking for a good option to learn spanish or/and do some meaningful volunteer work here is one: The Amazon Spanish College in Leticia. http://www.amazonspanishcollege.com/
Here you start to speak spanish rapidly and the teachers are good and friendly. Leticia is located in the most Southern part of the country where Colombia, Brazil and Peru meet on the Amazon River. Leticia is a direct neighbor with the Brazilian city of Tabatinga and with the island of Santa Rosa, Peru.
The river, the wildlife, such as the pink dolphins and the birds were stunning! I did a lot of trips to the rainforest. I can certainly recommend this if you want to see something more than Cartagena or Bogota and different to most other destinations in the world...........
