Andrew Gordon

Founder & President

Andrew founded Diversity Abroad in 2006. As an undergraduate at the University of San Francisco he had the opportunity to study abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Seville, Spain. He also worked in Madrid, Spain after graduated. With a passion for working with students, learning languages and about new cultures he started Diversity Abroad to help ensure all students were able to take advantage of study abroad. He is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators (www.nafsa.org), where he serves on the Committee on Underrepresentation and member of Net Impact (www.netimpact.org). He is also an alumnus of INROADS (www.inroads.org) and AIESEC (www.aiesec.org).

Prior to starting Diversity Abroad, Andrew worked as an associate at Deloitte and Touche in San Francisco, California. He also worked for Equifax as a credit analyst in Madrid, Spain.

 

Monty McGee

Institutional Relations Associate

Monty McGee is a honors graduate of Norfolk State University where he studied political science and international relations. He traveled abroad to China in 2006 for an academic year. Studying in Beijing and Kunming, Monty engaged in an independent research project focusing on the effects of hydroelectricity in modern China. Upon returning from his experience abroad, Monty also worked with the Congressional Research Service in the Foreign Defense and Trade Division as well as the China Environment Forum through the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars. He has been profiled by the Chronicle of Higher Education, School for International Training and selected as the IIE Passport student of the month.

Monty sat on the student advisory committee for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Monty is an Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP) fellow and a Benjamin A. Gilman scholar..
