AIFS Study Abroad in Granada, Spain: Semester Internship

AIFS Granada offers a for-credit internship program to give students practical experience in a competitive and global world. The International Internship Program gives students with an upper Intermediate level of Spanish and above the opportunity to intern in a local business, in a private hospital shadowing/ working with healthcare professionals, in a NGO or as a student teacher in a local school. The Spanish Language and Culture Program at the University of Granada is offered in English and Spanish, and Advanced Hispanic Studies is offered to students with advanced Spanish language skills. An optional Early Start Program is also available to students at all levels of Spanish, giving them the opportunity to adjust to life in Spain. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Granada, perched between the dazzling white peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the blue Mediterranean of the Costa del Sol, has a cosmopolitan air, but retains the feel of a small, welcoming Andalusian town. Traces of Moorish, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture can be found around every corner. Granada gives students the chance to be immersed in Spanish language, culture, cuisine and tradition in a city renowned for its cultural heritage and fusion. You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as guided city walks, visits to museums and cultural sites, tapas evening with Spanish students, hiking in the nearby Sierra Nevadas, Spanish cooking classes, and traditional music and dance performances. AIFS includes a 3-day trip to Gibraltar, Seville and Cordoba, and day trips to Ronda and the beach town of Nerja. Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to Morocco, and a 3-day trip to Madrid and Toledo.

Over 50% of our study abroad participants receive financial support from AIFS in the form of scholarships or grants.
