Abstract

Chile is considered a sexually conservative country. For example, divorce was not legal until 2004. Although LGBTQIA+ individuals are tolerated in much of Chile, particularly in cosmopolitan Santiago, the movement for LGBTQIA+ rights is not widely embraced throughout the country.
