Intuitively, we know that there are differences between undergrad and grad school, but how different are they?
Specialized skills and expertise: First and foremost, graduate programs are designed to provide students with specialized skills and expertise.
Length: More often than not, graduate programs tend to be shorter in length and more focused than undergraduate programs.
Expectations: The general expectations of students are quite different between undergraduate and graduate programs. Graduate programs tend to be more intense, and can require students to be more independent with their studies. The amount of reading, writing, and discussion is intensified at the graduate level. The expectations for the knowledge students bring to the program are different also. Graduate students are expected to speak to their applied experience and be more familiar with practices in general.
