AIFS Study Abroad in Barcelona, Spain: Soccer and Sports Science Program
This innovative program combines a 3-credit course in Sport in Economy and Society with the option of taking 6 soccer training sessions led by professional coaches and 3 theory sessions which may include topics such as sports psychology, hygiene and nutrition and injury prevention. The 45-hour course is taught by faculty at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). Throughout the 3-week program, students can live in a homestay (breakfast and dinner provided daily), or in an apartment or student residence with a meal allowance. Different cultural and social activities are offered throughout the program, such as a welcome tapas dinner, city walking tours, and tours of museums and monuments. Additionally, several day trips are offered and there is an optional 3-day excursion to Madrid if students are interested!
Earn up to 16 credits studying at The University of Hyderabad, one of India’s premier institutions of post graduate teaching and research, was established by an act of parliament in 1974 as a Central University, wholly financed by the University Grants Commission. The University’s scenic and serene campus spreads over 2,300 acres, 12 miles from the city of Hyderabad. Amid the scenic environment of the campus, several buildings catering to the academic needs, support facilities and residential requirements of the campus community have been constructed over the years. Since 1998, the University has offered foreign students a special program – the Study in India Program (SIP). This is an interdisciplinary program emphasizing heritage, continuity and change in India. A Community Engagement Program (CEP) is offered, in which students will be placed in a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and will experience first-hand the role of NGOs in various development initiatives in the local community while also earning college credits!
Earn credits through a wide variety of courses when you study in beautiful, historic Florence at Richmond University. You’ll have the option to live in a homestay or in a student apartment as you experience many social and cultural activities, such as trips to local art galleries, an Italian cooking class, and visits to the local museums. Enjoy trips to Rome, Siena and Venice, immersing yourself in the Italian culture. Volunteer and internship opportunities are also available. AIFS in Florence includes a one-week orientation before the semester begins so students can acclimate themselves to Italian language and culture. Fall semester students attend orientation in the beach-side town of Pietrasanta, while spring semester students attend orientation in Rome. A for-credit International Internship Program (IIP) is also available, in which students take a 2-week Intensive Language Preparation course worth 2 credits. In the spring semester, a Fashion Management and Marketing Program is also offered. Volunteer opportunities are available and interested students can enhance their volunteer work with a for-credit Service Learning and Active Citizenship course.
