CIEE Summer Comparative Hispanic Art Multi-Site Program in Alicante + Guanajuato

Explore the kaleidoscope of Hispanic art from theoretical and practical perspectives in Spain and Mexico this summer. You’ll start in beautiful Alicante, learning about Spain’s contributions to the history of Western art from the Paleolithic period to the present through painting and architecture. Then travel to Guanajuato to explore how European aesthetic techniques blended with the crafts of pre-Hispanic cultures to form artesanía, a concept and craft heavily tied to Mexican national and indigenous identities.
