CIEE Summer Gender & Ethnic Studies Program in Buenos Aires, Argentina

What does it mean to be a woman in Argentina? How are indigenous people and immigrants treated? Explore major identity issues during CIEE’s Summer Gender and Ethnic Studies program. You’ll observe Argentinean cultural leanings with your own eyes, and meet with researchers, activists, and key players in current civil and political movements. Plus, you’ll learn about current identity theories, cultural realities, and belief systems in Argentina and, through your own observations and analysis, put them to the test. Study abroad in Buenos Aires and you’ll: - Enhance your understanding of classroom topics through meetings with researchers, activists, and key players in both civil and political movements - Employ an interdisciplinary approach to analyze the complex process of the construction of gender and sexual identities in Argentina - Explore, and in many cases, debunk the various discourses about ethnicity, cultural diversity, and multiculturalism in relation to the Argentine experience
