Who We Are
The Intercollegiate Sri Lanka Education (ISLE) Program is a consortium-run study abroad program affiliated with the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. ISLE offers a unique immersion experience that is ideal for students who are interested in challenging themselves academically outside of their home institution. ISLE combines rigorous language study and academic classes with engaging field lectures and site visits, homestay accommodations, and the support and tools needed to develop a meaningful connection with Sri Lankan society and culture.
The ISLE Program consortium is composed of Amherst, Bates, Bowdoin, Carleton, Holy Cross, Gustavus Adolphus, and Swarthmore Colleges. Undergraduates from other universities and colleges are welcome to apply for the program during Spring and Fall semester programs. ISLE offers a diverse liberal arts curriculum that is suited to all academic majors.
The ISLE Program, as a nonprofit incorporation in the United States of America, complies with applicable provisions of federal and state laws that prohibit discrimination in employment, admission, or access to its educational or extracurricular programs, activities, or facilities based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, age, marital status, place of birth, veteran status, or against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability.
