Temple University has been involved in international education since the inception of the Temple-in-Paris program in 1950. The Temple Rome campus followed in 1966, and later Temple University Japan, and faculty led summer programs worldwide.
We are dedicated to offering students a wide range of study abroad options and to providing programs that incorporate the location as an integral part of the classroom. Our mission is to continuously strengthen international education by providing access to quality study abroad opportunities for all students. We recognize that today, more than ever, the world demands that students understand other countries and how they are linked together. We are committed to the notion that through international education, students enrich their general education, acquire knowledge and experience for their later professional success, and develop life skills needed to become competent and engaged global citizens.
Temple deeply values diversity as a central element of its institutional culture. Studying abroad can present different challenges to different groups of students, and we strive to provide resources that help students get the most out of their experience, with individual differences in mind. Our staff is SafeZone trained and works with the Office of Disability Resources & Services to acommodate students with a variety of needs.
