Based at the University of Oviedo, this program provides an immersive linguistic and cultural experience, combining in-class language instruction with a homestay and daily interaction with Oviedo citizens. Removed from the heavy tourism of other Spanish towns, Oviedo, the capital of Asturias, is rich in Spanish history and culture and offers easy access to nearby cities, the mountains and the coast. This off-the-beaten-path location provides students with a truly authentic experience. You'll not only improve your language skills, but you'll learn about the region's traditions, history and cuisine, and you might even learn to cook local dishes from your host family!
As a program participant, you will be enrolled in the Cursos de Lengua y Cultura Españolas para Extranjerosprogram, which for 35 years has offered courses in Spanish language and culture to international students. An integral part of the university, the program offeres a broad range of courses, conducted in Spanish at the intermediate and advanced levels, and is housed at La Casa de las Lenguas, a center dedicated to language learning on the university's Campus de El Milán.
Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) offers you the opportunity to study abroad in Tokyo during the summer, or for a semester or the full academic year. As a participant in the fall, spring or 10-week summer semester, you will study alongside degree-seeking Japanese students, who comprise 30 percent of undergraduates, as well as international students from about 60 countries all around the world. With such a diverse student body, you can expect a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives on current global issues, international relations, and aspects of traditional and popular culture. Outside of the classroom, we hope that you will continue this exchange by participating in the many social activities organized each semester. We also hope that you will take advantage of the full schedule of outings, events and workshops that expose you to new locations and various aspects of life in Tokyo and throughout Japan.
Temple University Rome, established in 1966, provides students from a variety of disciplines the opportunity to study in Rome for an academic year, semester or summer. Over its 50-year history, Temple Rome has maintained a strong academic and cultural program that takes advantage of the splendid resources Rome and Italy have to offer, both historical and contemporary. Courses taught at Temple Rome are specifically designed to enhance your understanding of your new surroundings. Many allow you to bring context and life to your studies through frequent on-site instruction within Rome and excursions to other cities, and by incorporating guest speakers and critics into the curriculum. Internships are also available. The program is open to qualified students matriculated at U.S. colleges and universities. We partner with universities and colleges across the U.S. to include students from small liberal arts colleges to traditional state universities and technical colleges- all are welcome to Temple's campus in Rome!
