Who We Are

WorldTeach was founded in 1986 by a group of college students seeking to promote education at the local level in places that lack teachers and educational resources. We now send 400 volunteers each year to local schools and host communities in developing countries around the world. Since inception, we have placed over 7,000 volunteers in 28 countries, providing them with the teacher training, language preparation and field support, necessary to create lasting impact on the communities they work with.

Diversity Statement

WorldTeach envisions a world in which everyone has access to quality education and cross-cultural exchange built upon respect and understanding. This vision is held not only for our partner communities and their students around the world, but also for our volunteer teachers. Volunteers of any race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and ability are welcomed into the WorldTeach family as WorldTeach believes that cultural exchange opportunities should be available to all individuals.
