Comparative and Regional Studies (MA)

The Comparative and Regional Studies (CRS) program prepares students to be regional experts who understand key global issues through comparative analysis across regions and countries. Unlike traditional regional studies,CRS combines study of the comparative method with regional expertise. In this way, CRS regional concentrations serve as laboratories for knowledge, allowing students to draw lessons from experiences within a region to inform their understanding of the local context and, importantly, of how and why the local context shapes outcomes of global interest.

American MBA

The American MBA program at CIS has a duration of approximately 16 months and is accredited by Endicott College. The program includes part time (afternoon-evening) classes and full time internships with national and international companies from our vast network in Madrid. Classes have a maximum of 12 students and are based on practical assessments including group work, projects, presentations, simulations and participation.

The POLI.DESIGN Consorzio of the Politecnico di Milano and ISAD, Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design together with the Confindustria associations of Bergamo, Como and Lecco and their member companies are organising the first first-level Master's Degree in New Tech Style Design, textile experiences, to enhance, develop and promote Italian textile products through research, innovation and collaboration. The purpose of the Master's Degree is increase knowledge of textiles, not only in terms of possible applications in the sectors of fashion and design, and, at the same time, to prepare and develop a system of skills aimed at innovating textiles for both the clothing and furnishings and home markets: industrial design expertise aimed at product innovation, not only in aesthetic-formal terms, but also in the performance of materials, comfort and ergonomics, and process innovation aimed at simplifying, optimising and increasing the quality of processes.

This program is also for you if you believe in travel and an immersion in the cultures of the world as a means to share experience and knowledge among all people. The Alternative Break Abroad program combines volunteer work with adventure and the experience of travelling and learning about other cultures, customs and places. Volunteering to help children, the community or the environment is also a new way to learn about yourself. This group-based (5 participants or more) volunteer program is for those who are interesting in combining travel abroad with community service and studying Spanish for free. Our Alternative Break Abroad program gives you the opportunity to volunteer for short or long term programs run year-round in the Amazon, Coast, Andes and Galapagos - Ecuador. Eco Volunteer UP gives you the chance to learn, volunteer and expose yourself to the lifestyle of a third world country, while traveling and immersing yourself in an Ecuadorian culture. And youâll also learn Spanish for free! Choose among three exciting Alternative Break options: ONE WEEK BREAK: Participants can choose to volunteer at any project in QUITO among health, child care, orphanage, children with disabilities or elderly care project, or Conservation CLOUD FOREST. Combine this with a cultural day tour in the afternoon in Quito, free Spanish lessons and the last two days of travel to MINDO for a fantastic zip line tour or another activity (tubing, rappelling, chocolate making or visiting a butterfly farm), plus visit EQUATOR LINE â MITAD DEL MUNDO and OTAVALO, the largest indigenous market in South America. Program fee: US $245 + registration fee Includes*: Pick up and drop off at airport in Quito, accommodation and three meals per day, orientation and support before and during your volunteering, cultural day tour in Quito, trips to Mindo and Otavalo (including transportation) and free Spanish lessons. TWO WEEK BREAK: Participants combine different projects. You will stay three days in QUITO volunteering at day care, orphanage, child care, elderly care or children with disabilities project, add a cultural day tour in the afternoon in Quito, free Spanish lessons, travel to CLOUD FOREST for three days volunteering and a day trip to MINDO for zip line tour or another activity (tubing, rappelling, chocolate making or visiting a butterfly farm), plus EQUATOR LINE â MITAD DEL MUNDO, OTAVALO, the largest indigenous market in South America, four days volunteering in the AMAZON at the Wild Animal Rescue Center or Conservation or Community project, one day trip to do rafting and visiting the town of BAÃOS, four days volunteering on the COAST for a local community by teaching English, or helping in a day care and/or medical center, and five days in GALAPAGOS, with three days volunteering and two days touring, including a day on the beach. Program fee: US $795 + registration fee Includes: Pick up and drop off airport in Quito, accommodation and three meals per day, orientation and support before and during your volunteering, cultural day tour in Quito, trips to Mindo, Otavalo, three day trips in Galapagos, rafting tour, transportation for the trips and free Spanish lessons. You are welcome to arrive any day of the week. However, we prefer you arrive on a Sunday to start volunteering on Monday morning.
