The Brussels Internship Program offers students the opportunity to spend eight weeks living, studying, and interning in the heart of Europe. Students are introduced to the city’s important place in European and world politics through coursework that focuses on the current challenges facing the EU. Field trips to political, governmental, and non-governmental organizations complement the coursework.

AIFS Study Abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa

Spectacular mountain ranges surround Stellenbosch, the university town in the winelands of the Western Cape, South Africa. The elegant Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian houses that grace the oak tree-lined streets reflect the history of one of South Africa’s oldest towns. Take a stroll and you’ll find interesting museums, open-air coffee shops, bistros and a thriving art scene; go further afield and you can hike through vineyards, orchards and mountain ranges. Study here and become part of a vibrant academic community with a tranquil and laid-back atmosphere. AIFS in Stellenbosch offers a traditional academic program as well as a Learning for Sustainable Community Engagement Program (LSCE). Students can choose courses from Stellenbosch University’s full course catalog which covers a broad range of subjects. LSCE students take specific courses in Sustainable Community Engagement, plus one or two electives, in addition to volunteer work in the community. AIFS also offers students with an interest in art, photography, ceramics or marketing the opportunity to intern at the Ardmore Ceramic Studio in Kwazulu Natal.Please refer to our website for term-specific details. FIE Dublin: Summer Irish Studies, Business & Culture

FIE's Dublin summer program is an incredible way to spend 5.5 weeks studying, exploring, and travelling in Ireland. The program offers students the opportunity to gain an understanding of Ireland across a broad spectrum of study and experience. Students complete two courses during the program: 1) An Insight into Irish History, Politics and Literature and 2) Irish Culture and Society. The program includes two co-curricular field excursions to Northern Ireland and Cork to contextualize and deepen the experience. Also included are living accommodation in shared apartments in central Dublin, a full calendar of weekly extra-curricular activities, and an amazing staff available around the clock to support the group throughout the program.

The CAPA Florence Global Cities Program

Located in the Santa Croce neighborhood of Florence, the CAPA Florence Program hosts students to attend classes and soak up history and culture in the center of the city’s traditional art quarter. As a completely walk able city, students experience the rich history of the renaissance city around every corner. In Florence, learning does not stop at the classroom door. Students have endless world-renowned museums to visit as well as access to the library at the British Institute, which is home to more than 50,000 English books. Through exploring Florence, the home to the Renaissance, students encounter diversity in neighborhoods with distinctive shops, art, restaurants, and lifestyle.

South Africa: Education and Social Change

This summer program examines the role of education in South Africa in the context of the country’s historical circumstances, contemporary public policy, and social and economic development. Students typically spend time at primary and secondary schools as well as adult educational centers in urban and rural KwaZulu-Natal. AMIDEAST Learn & Serve in Cairo, Egypt (Summer)

Learn & Serve in Egypt is a unique summer education abroad opportunity for undergraduate students to study in the Middle East/North Africa region and engage in an intense service learning experience with local non-governmental organizations. Students live in the heart of Cairo in the neighborhood of Dokki; just a short walk from the banks of the Nile. There, students engage in experiential learning every day by shopping in local markets, haggling with taxis, and frequenting local cafes with Egyptian friends. Students who study with AMIDEAST in Egypt discover the dynamic and rich side of Cairo, not just the tourist sites. Students simultaneously study Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, allowing them to practice speaking the most widely understood Arabic dialect, while undertaking an international volunteer placement in Cairo, the Arab world's most populous city. Students earn a total of 8 academic credits (Community Based Learning, 5 credits and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, 3 credits). With the addition of cultural activities, dialogue programs with local university students, and excursions, students gain an intimate understanding of the role of organizations in Egyptian society. Applicants are required to have completed at least one previous semester of Arabic study in order to participate in this program.
