Why did you decide to study abroad?

I decided to study abroad in Israel because I grew up reading stories in my Bible about Israel. I also knew Israel's story when and how they became an independent state. My biggest influence to study there was the scholarship I received from the Hebrew University and Diversity Abroad. I applied to the program trusting that I was going to get the scholarship.

How did you pay for your study abroad experience?

Definitely, the scholarship I got from the Hebrew University and Diversity Abroad. I also put money my own, but without those scholarship I couldn't afford this opportunity.

What is one thing you wish you would have known about studying abroad before you left?

Maybe some Hebrew! at least to help me to attach more with my friends there

Did you experience any discrimination abroad because of your race, sex, religion, sexual orientation or a physical disability? If so, what did you learn from the experience?

I did not experienced any of that. Contrary, Israel is so diverse and multicultural that I felt welcomed and well treated by everyone there. I was amazed of the sense of family I felt while i was there. Strangers starting conversations with you and many other trying to help you with directions and other things, it was amazing.

How has studying abroad benefited you, personally and academically?

Education is Israel is great. I wish I could finish a PhD there, but that is something maybe impossible. Every single class was a eyeopener experience. I felt so close to my professors after a few days. they even invited us to their houses for super. My life was impacted greatly by this experience. professionally, I learn new skills and theories that I know, will impact my practice. The culture also thought me how to be more sensitive to other people and how to live in peace when you are surrounded by conflict. My faith was also impacted by the history of Christianity and the old testament. I am a new person thanks to this opportunity. I don not have words to express how thankful I am.
