IES Abroad London – Health Practice & Policy

Don’t just learn about health care in a classroom—immerse yourself in the study of compelling public health issues in London and Kingston, Jamaica that are affecting local communities, regions, and the global population.

This program was created to meet the academic needs and interests of students majoring or minoring in public health, and students who may be considering future work in health care.

Through our program, you discover the different perspectives, challenges, and needs of diverse populations in London and Kingston with a once-in-a-lifetime service learning opportunity.

During the final 10 days of the term, you participate in an extended program-related trip to Kingston, Jamaica, hosted by the University of the West Indies School of Nursing, Mona. Learn about the health care issues in a developing economy through lectures, discussions, and observation at community health clinics and local NGOs.

Application Procedure:

Applying to an IES Abroad program is easy—just follow the three study abroad application steps outlined below. If you have any questions during the application process, visit the FAQs or contact your Program Advisor at 800.995.2300. You can do this!

1.    Check the application deadline and review the application requirements for your study abroad or internship program of interest. Plan to submit all of the required information by the deadline.

2.    Create an account or log in to complete and submit the initial online study abroad application.

3.    After 1-2 business days, sign in to your MyIESabroad account to view and submit the rest of the application requirements. You will also receive regular emails about deadlines and missing items.
