Abstract

Although German society can be very progressive, there is still a long way to go before Germany achieves gender equality. Though many laws and policies support women’s rights, many women in Germany believe that gender roles and a lack of representation of women in high-level positions are hampering progress. In addition, several feminists of color find that feminism in Germany is very white, and the experiences of women of color are often left out of the conversation.
