Diversity Abroad values your privacy and is committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe and inclusive online community for its users. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes the ways we collect, store, use and manage the information, including personal information that you provide or we collect in connection with diversityabroad.com site or any other website or apps offered by Diversity Abroad (collectively, the “Sites”). Each time you visit the Sites or provide us with information, you are, by doing so, accepting the practices described in this Policy.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of April 2019 for all users.

What information do we collect?

Diversity Abroad.com and related Sites are designed to connect students, who are 18+ of age, with opportunities for academic, professional, and personal development. While many of our online resources are available without providing personal details, some of our online services gather information about each user in order to create a personalized experience.

Some of our online services give users the option to create a user account where they provide personal identifiable information, such as names, emails, addresses as well as information on user’s interests and affiliations, and resume/CV. Users are notified what information is required to participate for each service. Example below show what type of information may be collected and used according to this Policy:

  • Creating an account
  • Creating a profile
  • Uploading a resume
  • Completing a form to receive an e-newsletter
  • Contacting us for technical support or customer service

A user’s profile can be viewed by Diversity Abroad partners if a user selects that option.

Information associated with actions you take on the platform may also be collected by us. For example, submitting an application on our site for a scholarship.

You may connect your DiversityAbroad user account to your Facebook account, or other applicable social media account (collectively, “Social Media Service”). The information we collect when you connect your user account to a Social Media Service may include your public profile information, email address, and location. This information also constitutes personal information and is therefore subject to this Policy. Users are advised to check their privacy settings with Social Networking Sites to determine preferences of sharing information by third parties.

Automated Information Collected

To facilitate your online experience, our platform may also collect your IP address, browser type, access times, referring URL, location, and postal code. In addition, we may use cookies to track usage patterns at our site. See below for more detail on cookies.

What do we do with your information?

DiversityAbroad.com and related Sites are designed to connect students with opportunities for academic, professional, and personal development. Through our community and your requests, we may retain any messages and content that you share on the Sites. We may use this information to assess and enhance our services, online community, as well as troubleshoot for technical issues and communicate to you any issues about the Sites.

How do we share your Information?

Any personal information shared on the site is available to Diversity Abroad team members and its consultants who support our website and services which are available to you. We limit access to personal data only to those employees or consultants with a specific need to access or retrieve this information by using a username and password.

We may also disclose personal information to analyze data, enhance services, and to our partners (see below) based on your interest and questions answered in your profile. By accepting this Privacy Policy, you agree that we may share information with partners who may reach out to you separately about services that you indicated interest in. Our partners have agreed to this privacy policy to project users confidentiality and integrity of the information that they may receive from us.

Our Partners

Diversity Abroad screens its partners and all partners engaged with DiversityAbroad.com platform and related Sites. They must must comply with our policies, our information collection, and are not permitted to sell your information to third parties or to use it except as authorized by us and you, or as permitted or required by law.

Our partners information will be added through the Sites to our client relationship management software (Salesforce) to assist us in creating a better partner experience.

We reserve the right to use or disclose any information without notice or consent as needed to satisfy any law, regulation or legal request; to conduct investigations of consumer complaints or possible breaches of law; to protect the integrity of our site and our property; to protect the safety of our visitors or others; to fulfill your requests; or to cooperate in any legal investigation.

Cookies are store small amounts of data on your computer when you visit a website. Our Sites use cookies to collect information about how you interact with our website to enhance your experience. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying your browser and our websites are viewable even if you disable the cookie function on your browser. Third party Advertising Companies

Deleting my information

At any time, a user can unsubscribe and also delete their account. Deletion of an account may lead to the termination of your account and access to services. After you have deleted your account, please be aware that we may keep inaccessible copies of your information for a reasonable period of time for legal purposes to the extent permitted by applicable law.
