Global educational opportunities are no longer a luxury for wealthy students; they are imperative for all students who want to be successful leaders in a competitive global marketplace. Whether national or international, to effectively take on the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities in the 21st century, organizations must employ individuals with a global perspective and who are comfortable and effective engaging with difference. While employers may not readily perceive global education as a valuable experience for future employees, the tangible and intangible skills derived from such experiences are undeniably valuable. These skills include, but are not limited to:

Unfortunately, students of color, first-generation college students, and students with high financial needs are traditionally underrepresented in high impact activities such as global education. Ultimately, that puts these students at a disadvantage when applying for positions in industries or for admission to competitive graduate programs. Diversity Abroad’s work ensures that students from diverse backgrounds have equitable access to global educational opportunities. Additionally, we mentor students and help them leverage their global experience to be more effective leaders in the organizations they work for.

Diversity Abroad specializes in connecting our partners, their internship offerings, career opportunities, and/or services to a growing and diverse population of students, recent graduates, young professionals and the organizations that serve them. Through a network of over 280 university, non-profit, government agencies, and corporate partners, Diversity Abroad’s activities and resources reach thousands of professionals and over a million students each year.
