AIFS Study Abroad in Berlin, Germany

AIFS

Spend a summer interning, or a semester or academic year studying abroad in Berlin through Freie Universitat Berlin, OR a summer or January term studying abroad through Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin.

Live in a homestay, a self-catering student apartment, or in shared university apartments.

Berlin is arguably Europe's hippest city- a dynamic, multicultural metropolis where the emphasis is on freedom, creativity and expression. World War II all but destroyed the city, the Berlin Wall literally divided it and it is hard not to be impressed by the regeneration that is taking place architecturally, economically, and socially since the Wall came down in 1989. Students will be given a transportation pass as well as a museum pass, in order to take advantage to all of the historical and social sites the city has to offer. Additional cultural and social activities as well as day trips and excursions are included in the program.

Depending on the program and term, you may enjoy cultural and social activities such as a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Museum Island, a boat trip, cinema, open-air theater, Checkpoint Charlie, a visit to a brewery, museum and gallery visits, a day trip to the Baltic Sea and a day trip to the royal capital of Potsdam, another UNESCO World Heritage site.

Please refer to the AIFS website for program- and term-specific details.

Over 50% of our study abroad participants receive financial support from AIFS in the form of scholarships or grants
